Child and Family Health Nurses are Registered Nurses with additional specialist qualifications in child and family health.

All families with a new baby will be contacted by a Child and Family Health Nurse to offer the 1-4 week health and development check (hyperlink this to the 1-4 week check tab).
The nurse can provide support, guidance and information for families with children aged 0-5 years on:
– infant/child physical growth and development
– infant/child feeding and nutrition including breastfeeding
-adjustment to parenting
– sleep, crying and settling strategies
– immunisation
-safety
-parent’s wellbeing
– supports and services available in local communities which may include parent groups
